Most advanced Flying car prototypes, and plans to bring it to public transport:

Companies that are closest to launching a flying car, or have made significant progress in the “dream's realization”, include Joby Aviation, this company has announced plans to launch commercial air taxi services as early as 2024. Other notable names include Lilium, Volocopter. Here are Several companies that are developing flying car prototypes:
Volocopter:
Volocopter, is a German company, focusing on electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Volocopter has some prototypes like VoloCity and VoloConnect, these eVTOL have multiple rotor systems for stable flying, and are capable in urban air mobility.
Currently, the test flights and plans of full deployment into public transport of these Flying cars are taking place in Dubai U.A.E.
Other countries where the testing is happening include Singapore and Germany.
Terrafugia Transition:
One of the big names in the list is Terrafugia, it is a part of Geely (the parent company of Volvo). The company has been developing a flying car named the Transition, it is a special type of vehicle that can transition between flying and driving modes.
It features folding wings and is designed to be driven on roads like a car or flown in the air like a light aircraft.
Flight tests of Transition prototype took place in the United States.
PAL-V (Personal Air and Land Vehicle) :
PAL-V is a Dutch company that has developed the PAL-V Liberty, a gyrocopter-style flying car.
It features a tilting rotor system for vertical take-off and landing and can be driven on roads when not in flight.
It has conducted flight and road tests of its Flying Car prototype in Europe, and in the Netherlands.
AeroMobil:
AeroMobil is based in Slovakia, has developed several prototypes of its flying cars.
The AeroMobil 4.0 and AeroMobil 5.0 are noticeable prototypes of it, these vehicles feature a sleek design with folding wings and are capable of vertical take-off and landing.
Lilium:
Lilium is a German based company, and has been developing Lilium Jet, an all-electric, vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.
It features a fixed-wing design with multiple tilting ducted fans for propulsion and is intended for urban air mobility and air taxi services. The company has conducted test flights, in Germany, and at their testing facility in Bavaria. They are also planning to conduct further testing in the United States.
